Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk Therapy

During these times, counselling like many other professions, has needed to consider other ways of working.

One available option is: is 'Walk and Talk' Therapy.

Therapy outside has lots of benefits, both to the process of counselling and on general health and wellbeing, as well as offering opportunities for grounding work, mindfulness and meditation.

An added advantage being more opportunity for exercise, which has been proven to help with mental health and wellbeing, and for some people it may more comfortable to work therapeutically in this way.

We will discuss a route with weather, time and health in mind.  Walking routes will be at Upton Country Park, Hamworthy Beach or Sandbanks beach.

We will walk, pause, sit on a bench, look at the view and engage with the environment to suit your mood and at your pace. We will also have another plan in place such as online therapy, in case of heavy rain or if you simply don't want to do Therapy outside that day.

Due to Covid-19, a risk assessment of our route is used and a contract adhereing to safety measures in line with Government requirements will need to be signed.
